If I am pinging my mail server and it goes down, how will emails send?
If just your email server goes down, any errors will be Faxed to your number.

What is the difference between PingMyServers and other monthly alert services?
We do not charge by the month, you purchase our software.
Our software cannot offer testing server status with multiple internet backbones.
If your email goes down we will fax the alerts to a number of your choice.
We only ping servers to test availability.  Any server that can be accessed by a ping can be tested by Ping My Servers.
We write Progress Logs and Error Logs that you can use as you desire.  While services just give you an accessibility percentage, we log the following statistics for your examination:  Number of Attempts, Number of Successes, Best Time, Worst Time, Lost Packets, Average Time for different packet sizes of your choice.  Progress Logs help you chart for trends and help with your proactive strategy.  Error Logs identify the times and error descriptions.
Option setup is easy.  On line services are time consuming to setup.

What file format are the logfiles?
All logfiles write Comma Separated Values (CSV) files.

How can I test the setup?
There are test buttons on the Connections and SMS tabs.

One of my servers always errors out, what could be wrong?
Your server may have pings blocked.

How about software upgrades?
You will be allowed to upgrade your software for one year after registration.

What is the new TCP feature?
You now have a choice of testing by Ping and testing for the availability of a webpage.  The new feature connects to the domain then sends a request for the page.  If the connection to the domain is successful and information is retrieved from the webpage the domain or webpage is considered available for service and will not generate an alert.  Some servers have Ping disabled for security reasons.  This new feature gives you a way to check for availability on these servers.

Not just Ping - anymore New TCP testing now included
